With most races already decided the country’s focus was on the Georgia Senate race runoff between Trump-backed Hershel Walker Republican and incumbent Raphael Warnock Democrat.
The Associate Press has not called Georgia’s runoff Senate race for incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, who has a slight lead in votes as of Tuesday evening, according to unofficial results. According to most news outlets, the race has been called. We’re still waiting for the official results.
With the win, Democrats now have a 51-49 majority in the Senate, but Republicans control the House.
President Biden predicts a victory for Democrats. “We’re going to win. We’re going to win Georgia,” he told reporters upon exiting Air Force One this evening at Joint Base Andrews in suburban Washington.
Democrats should use this power to implement more progressive judges. There are about 75 vacancies in the U.S. District Courts and nine at the appellate level. As judges retire these numbers could grow.
