Maxwell Football Club Highlights Chambliss, Brown, and Russell in Week 3 Update

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, Louisville running back Keyjuan Brown, and Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell were among the players highlighted in the Maxwell Football Club’s Week 3 college football update, which reviewed performances from the week ending September 19.

Chambliss led Ole Miss to a 32–24 win over LSU, throwing for 363 yards and two touchdowns and adding a 14-yard touchdown run. Brown helped Louisville beat SMU 41–31 with 165 rushing yards on 10 carries, including two touchdowns of more than 50 yards. Northwestern quarterback Aidan Chiles also made the Maxwell Award watch list after accounting for five touchdowns in a 41–7 win over Colorado, according to the club’s update.

The report also recognized Iowa State running back Aiden Flora, who totaled 296 all-purpose yards against Bowling Green, and West Virginia quarterback Michael Hawkins, who accounted for five touchdowns in a win over Virginia. Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson, Miami quarterback Darian Mensah, and Nebraska running back Jamal Rule rounded out the Week 3 offensive standouts.

On defense, the club singled out Arizona State linebacker Owen Long for his performance against Kansas at Wembley Stadium. Long recorded 12 tackles, forced and recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass in the Sun Devils’ 24–17 win. Florida edge rusher Jayden Woods was recognized for 2.5 sacks against Auburn, while Oklahoma defensive tackle David Stone made eight tackles in a 14–6 win over New Mexico.

Alabama’s Russell earned the update’s Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award and Player of the Week recognition. The redshirt freshman completed 23 of 30 passes and accounted for four touchdowns as Alabama defeated Florida State 50–36.
