“I grew up on soul food,” Kenneth says proudly. His family, especially his grandmothers, mother, and aunties, played a pivotal role in shaping his cooking style. His grandmother, originally from Tennessee, was the heart of his culinary education, teaching him recipes that have been passed down through generations. “I got hollered at and my ass whipped about those recipes,” he laughs, emphasizing how serious they were about their cooking.

Kenneth’s mission was clear—to share the authentic soul food experience he cherished with the wider community. “I knew the quality of soul food I put out to the community would create a new vibe to our souls.”

From struggling with the interior remodel of the trailer to navigating Arizona’s unpredictable weather, he’s battled rain, sleet, snow, and heat. But through it all, Kenneth stayed resilient. “I stayed consistent, haven’t given up one day,” he says. His faith and determination kept him going. “Only God helped this journey.”

Soul Food has a rich history, and Kenneth honors that tradition while adding his innovative flair. “I take that old-school ’50s and ’60s style into my creations,” he explains. The result is a blend of authentic flavors with a touch of modern-day creativity.

One of his signature dishes, the mac & cheese, has become a fan favorite. “The quality of ingredients in that Mac is something powerful,” he says. Customers rave about it so much that it’s become a standout item on the menu. “You can eat it cold!” Kenneth’s mac & cheese recipe combines elements from both his grandmother’s and mother’s cooking, bringing together tradition and innovation in one dish.
