Kevin Bacon returns to the screen in The Bondsman

On April 3rd, audiences worldwide can watch the new show The Bondman, which stars the incredibly popular Kevin Bacon.

The show is about a murdered bounty hunter by the name of Hub Halloran who has returned from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send demons back to the “prison of Hell.”

In an interview with Den of Geek, Bacon praised the movie’s gore and cast, “the violence, and the blood, the family story, the music, and the humor were all really attractive to me in this project…It really is a great ensemble.”

While it’s early and the show hasn’t hit the general audience, it currently sits at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics with seven reviews all placed at fresh.

The show isn’t your traditional gore fest either, executive producer Erik Oleson highlighted the show’s ability to twist the genre expectations, “you don’t know whether you’re going to end the scene laughing, crying or watching a demon get a chainsaw to the face. It’s really going to twist your understanding of what you’ve been watching. Genre fans are not going to be disappointed.”

Erik Oleson is a renowned producer and showrunner best known for his work on Netflix’s Daredevil, and other shows like The Man in the High Castle, and Jack Ryan.

The whole show will air this upcoming Thursday and the first season will consist of eight episodes total, it’s unclear if the show will get green-lit for a second season but time will tell when fans and more critics get a chance to sink their teeth into it.

If all the blood and guts of The Bondsman interests you, you can catch it in its entirety on Prime Video where it will be exclusively streaming.
