ICC President Tomoko Akane Meets King Willem-Alexander in The Hague

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — International Criminal Court President Judge Tomoko Akane met with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on October 9, 2026, during an audience at Huis ten Bosch Palace, the ICC announced.

The visit brought together the leader of the court and the monarch of its host country. The Netherlands houses the ICC’s permanent headquarters in The Hague and plays an important role in supporting international efforts to hold perpetrators of the gravest crimes accountable.
