PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old woman who was found with an injury in southwest Phoenix on Saturday morning, October 17, 2026.
The victim has been identified as Cynthia Saenz, 41, according to information released by the Phoenix Police Department.
Woman Found Dead Near 35th Avenue
On Saturday, October 17, shortly after 7:15 a.m., Phoenix Police officers were dispatched to the area of 5300 South 35th Avenue following a report of an injured person.
Before officers arrived, personnel from the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the location and discovered a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities subsequently identified the woman as Cynthia Saenz.
When police officers arrived, they secured the surrounding area while detectives were called to investigate the circumstances of her death.
Detectives Investigating Death as Homicide
During their preliminary investigation, detectives observed that Saenz had sustained an injury.
Based on their findings, investigators classified the case as a homicide investigation.
