Since 2020, the global giant Netflix has lost -13% market share in the streaming world. Despite having hugely viral shows such as Wednesday, Squid Games, and Stranger Things, they have continued to decline in market share. Disney has steadily increased at the same time – however; they seem to have reached a plateau which could be a contributing factor to the recent layoff news.
With stiff competition coming from the major streaming services like Disney plus and Amazons’ Prime Video. Netflix has had issues in the past losing subscribers and the percentage of streamers watching its platform. The Streaming giant has saw a steady decline according to JustWatch.
