Toronto Raptors sophomore Scottie Barnes took a premature exit on the Toronto Raptors’ narrow 112-109 loss to the Miami Heat after suffering a sprained right ankle.
The reigning Rookie of the Year sustained the said injury midway through the second period, as he fell awkwardly after a layup. He eventually grabbed his foot, mincing in pain, and was escorted by a few teammates back to the bench.
He still managed to shoot a foul free-throw, but missed it. Toronto committed a foul to let Barnes leave the court and be shutted down entering the second half.
He underwent X-rays, which came back negative, per ESPN’s Tim Bontempts.
Barnes had 11 points to go with two rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes prior to his departure.
