The infamous jump shot by Russell Westbrook against the Trail Blazers was a rare occurrence. With the Lakers leading by one point and 30 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter, the 33-year-old point guard did not wait for LeBron James and Anthony Davis to join the offence but took a jump shot early in the offense.
He missed the shot and the Lakers ended up losing the game. As noted by Kirk Goldsberry, Russ made history by taking the jump shot.
Westbrook became the only player that has attempted a jump shot with under 30 seconds to go and 15+ seconds left on the shot clock with their team up by 1 possession in the last 4 seasons.
