PHOENIX — Residents and Phoenix Police Department employees can submit feedback from November 1 through December 1, 2026, as the department enters its first reaccreditation cycle through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, known as ALEAP.
The Phoenix Police Department joined ALEAP in 2021. According to the department’s announcement, participation is intended to strengthen operations, increase transparency, and support accountability to the community.
Assessors Will Review Department Operations
An ALEAP assessment team will conduct an on-site review December 1–3, 2026, examining the department’s policies, procedures, management practices, operations, and support services.
Accreditation is voluntary and recognizes agencies that meet established professional standards and commit to continuous improvement.
The Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police, or AACOP, serves as the accrediting body for Arizona.
How to Submit Public Feedback
Community members and department employees are invited to provide comments for the ALEAP Assessment Team through the ALEAP community feedback form.
The department identifies public input as an important component of the assessment process.
Public comment period: November 1–December 1, 2026

Accreditation Requires Ongoing Compliance
Accreditation is valid for four years. During that period, the department must submit annual reports demonstrating continued compliance with the standards under which it was accredited.
