PHOENIX — A 30-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle near 7300 West Lower Buckeye Road on Saturday, October 24, according to Phoenix police.
Police and fire personnel responded to the collision at approximately 7 p.m. The pedestrian, identified as Bruce Lee, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.
In an October 26 update, police said Lee had been walking with his girlfriend when he stepped into the roadway and was struck by an eastbound vehicle. Investigators said they believed Lee was intoxicated; the update did not provide toxicology results.
The driver, identified as Joshua Fragoso, 21, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. Officers reported no signs of driver impairment, and speed did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department Vehicular Crimes Unit have taken over the investigation.
