After a Russian court upheld its nine-year prison sentence of weed-smuggler WNBA player Brittney Griner, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver talked about Griner being detained in Russia:
“We’re doing everything we know available to us, which is, continuing to raise her profile and have direct conversations with the US government. It’s frustrating for us and enormously frustrating for her family. I’m not sure what else we could be doing right now.”
