It is widely expected that Kyrie Irving will end up with the Lakers. The main question is what kind of trade packages will be used by Los Angeles and Brooklyn.

Sports analyst Colin Cowherd thinks that the addition of the 30-year-old point guard would make the Lakers relevant again and the team could realistically think about making a deep playoff run next season.

“You’ve got to make the playoffs and be in the discussion in May and June. I think it’s a no doubt about it, slam dunk move,” Cowherd said.

This past season Irving averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 37.7 minutes per game for the Nets.
