Georgia reclaimed the top spot in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 rankings released October 11 after a 20-17 road victory over Alabama, while Texas dropped to No. 7 following a loss to Oklahoma.
The Bulldogs received 48 of 56 first-place votes, earning their first No. 1 ranking since September 8, 2024. Georgia has now topped the poll 38 times, second only to Alabama’s 62 appearances at No. 1, according to the release.
Texas, which entered the week atop the rankings, fell six positions after a 27-24 defeat against Oklahoma in Dallas. The result opened the door for Georgia and reshuffled the leading contenders.
Notre Dame climbed two spots to No. 2 after overwhelming Stanford 58-7. Miami remained No. 3 following an open date, while Ohio State and Indiana rounded out the top five.

Kentucky secured the No. 15 position, returning for the first time since October 2, 2022. USC also rejoined the rankings at No. 16.
LSU, Florida and Oregon dropped out following Week 6 losses.
The SEC led all conferences with seven ranked teams. The Big Ten followed with four, while the Big 12 placed three teams in the poll. The ACC and FBS independents each had one representative.
