Fatal Shooting at Indiana Hospital Claims Officer’s Life

In a tragic incident at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, southern Indiana, a confrontation between police and a man resulted in gunfire, leading to the deaths of officer Sgt. Heather Glenn and the suspect, Sean Hubert. The shooting occurred during Glenn’s investigation of a domestic dispute involving Hubert and a female victim seeking medical treatment. Despite Glenn’s attempts to arrest Hubert, he resisted and produced a firearm during a struggle. In response, officers from the Tell City Police Department and Cannelton Police Department fired back, fatally injuring Hubert.

Both Glenn and Hubert received immediate medical attention at the scene but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Glenn, who had served for nearly 20 years with the Tell City Police Department and Perry County Sheriff’s Office, was highly regarded within the department and her loss is deeply felt. Police Chief Derrick Lawalin expressed condolences to Hubert’s family as well.

The incident comes shortly after the death of an Indiana trooper who was struck and killed by a suspect’s vehicle, further highlighting the dangers faced by law enforcement personnel in the line of duty.
