Former Girlfriend Reported Armed Entry and Strangulation
According to the police-provided summary of the probable cause statement, officers responded to a September 17 domestic disturbance at a St. Louis County residence.
The woman told officers that Ewing, her former boyfriend, had asked to visit that day and that she declined.
She reported later hearing thuds at a side door before seeing Ewing enter after kicking it in, allegedly carrying a rifle.
The woman said she retreated toward her bedroom to retrieve her firearm, but Ewing caught up with her, placed a hand around her throat and strangled her.
According to the statement, she fell to the floor, obtained her firearm, and pointed it at Ewing. He allegedly pointed his rifle at her before leaving with her phone and keys.
The woman told police that her two children were in the living room and witnessed part of the incident.
Police Describe Pursuit and Crash
After realizing her keys were missing, the woman went outside and saw Ewing attempting to take her vehicle, according to the statement. She reported trying to stop him by getting into the driver’s seat where he was sitting.
While officers were at the residence, they saw Ewing drive past in the vehicle reported stolen. Police said he fled when they attempted to stop him.
Officers later saw him drive past the home again. According to the statement, he again refused to stop, prompting a pursuit that ended when he lost control and struck a utility pole.
Police allege Ewing then ran from the vehicle carrying a rifle. Officers ordered him to stop and drop the weapon. He dropped the rifle but escaped on foot, according to the statement.
Officers recovered the firearm as evidence.
Alleged Threats Continued During Investigation
The probable cause summary alleges Ewing continued calling the woman during the investigation and threatened to return and shoot at her family’s home.
Police also reported three domestic violence reports dating to July 2026 involving Ewing and the same woman. Those allegations remain under investigation.
Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are leading the case.
The supplied release does not include a response from Ewing or a defense attorney.
