The Orange, Cotton, Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Peach bowls will continue rotating as hosts for the College Football Playoff quarterfinals and semifinals.
The College Football Playoff has announced its quarterfinal and semifinal dates and bowl assignments for the 2028-29 through 2031-32 seasons.
The six CFP bowls—the Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Peach, Rose and Sugar—will continue hosting the games on a rotating basis. Starting with the 2026 season, historic conference bowl tie-ins will no longer determine playoff assignments.
Game times and television network information will be announced later.

Previously Announced CFP Dates
The quarterfinals for the 2026-27 season are scheduled to begin on December 30, 2026, at the Fiesta Bowl. The Cotton, Peach and Rose bowls will host quarterfinal games on January 1, 2027.
The Orange Bowl will host a semifinal on January 14, 2027, followed by the Sugar Bowl on January 15.
For the 2027-28 season, the Sugar Bowl will host a quarterfinal on December 31, 2027. The Fiesta, Peach and Rose bowls will hold quarterfinals on January 1, 2028.
The Orange Bowl will host a semifinal on January 13, 2028, while the Cotton Bowl will host the second semifinal on January 14.
How the CFP Bowl Selection Will Work
The 2026-27 College Football Playoff will use a 12-team bracket. The field will include the conference champions from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten, Big 12 and Southeastern Conference.
The highest-ranked champion from the American, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West, Pac-12 or Sun Belt will also qualify. The remaining seven positions will go to the next highest-ranked teams.
Notre Dame will be included if it finishes among the top 12 teams in the final CFP rankings.
With historic conference bowl tie-ins removed from the assignment process beginning in 2026, the top three playoff seeds will select their preferred bowl paths in ranking order.
The CFP has not yet announced kickoff times or television assignments for the newly scheduled games.
