Serena Sun Releases ‘Tell Me… Please,’ Announces Debut Album ‘Slice of the Sun’

Serena Sun explores uncertainty and letting go on “Tell Me... Please,” the new single preceding her debut album, Slice of the Sun.

Vancouver-born singer, songwriter, and producer Serena Sun explores uncertainty and the search for direction on her new single, “Tell Me… Please,” released October 30 through Slice of the Sun Records/Head Bitch Music.

The track arrives ahead of her debut album, Slice of the Sun, scheduled for January 15, 2027, according to the supplied announcement.

Listeners can find the single here and watch its accompanying lyric video on YouTube.

A Song About Letting Go of Control

Sun describes “Tell Me… Please” as a song written while searching for guidance and feeling overwhelmed by decisions about her future.

“I wrote ‘Tell Me… Please’ as a plea to God, begging for a sign for what to do next,” she said in the announcement.

She explained that the song explores releasing control and looking beyond herself for help after feeling the pressure of determining her own fate.

The release describes an arrangement built around meditative acoustic guitar, manipulated electric guitar, and relaxed acoustic percussion. Its lyric video places Sun among rabbits, with animated visuals and artistic lettering accompanying the song’s narrative.

Debut Album Draws on Life in London

Sun began playing piano at age five and was writing and producing music by her teens.

After spending 2023 through 2026 in London, she returned to Vancouver. That period abroad helped shape Slice of the Sun, a concept album exploring growth, homesickness, self-doubt and starting over.

Her publicity materials cite influences including Samia, Dora Jar, Del Water Gap and Slow Pulp, describing a sound that moves between acoustic textures, dreamy indie pop and grittier guitars.

Growing Audience Across Canada and Europe

According to her representatives, Sun has accumulated more than 3.4 million streams and built an audience across Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.

The announcement identifies her as a Spotify Fresh Finds Forward Artist for 2026 and reports sold-out headline performances in Vancouver and London.

Her live experience includes an eight-city European tour supporting LEITH, appearances at Rifflandia and Khatsahlano, and opening slots for artists including RINI, Luna Li, Jo Hill and Michael Seyer.

Sun was also shortlisted for the 2025 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, according to the release. Her work has received support from outlets including BBC Introducing London, EARMILK and CBC.

Birmingham Performance Scheduled for November 10

Sun is scheduled to support singer-songwriter Cristina Hart at The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on November 10, 2026.

Fans can find more information through Serena Sun’s official website and follow her on Instagram.
