Texas remains atop the FWAA-NFF Super 16 for a third consecutive week, receiving 36 of 56 first-place votes in the Week 4 poll. Georgia, Notre Dame, and Miami (FL) held their places at Nos. 2 through 4 after each earned a commanding win.
Florida made the biggest move among the newcomers. The Gators entered at No. 8 following a 52–28 home win over Ole Miss, their first appearance in the poll since September 2025. Ole Miss fell six places to No. 11.
Oregon returned at No. 14 after beating USC 41–27 at the Coliseum. Iowa joined the rankings at No. 15 following a 20–19 road win over Michigan, while Mississippi State took the final spot after a seven-point home victory over Missouri. USC, Penn State, Tennessee, and Louisville dropped out after Week 4 losses.
The SEC leads all conferences with seven ranked teams. The Big Ten has four, the Big 12 has three, and the ACC and FBS independents have one apiece.
Next week brings two games between ranked teams: No. 5 Ohio State visits No. 15 Iowa, and No. 7 Alabama travels to No. 16 Mississippi State. No. 4 Miami plays at Clemson, No. 8 Florida visits Missouri, and No. 2 Georgia hosts Vanderbilt. Texas, Ole Miss, Utah, and Oregon are idle.
The Football Writers Association of America and the National Football Foundation established the Super 16 poll after the 2013 season. Its voters, drawn from FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers, rank the top 16 Football Bowl Subdivision teams.
