[WASHINGTON, DC ] May 28, 2025 — The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. mourns the passing of Congressman Charles B. Rangel, a towering figure in American politics and a trailblazer in the fight for economic justice and civil rights.
As a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Congressman Rangel was a tireless advocate for Black communities and an unwavering champion for Black businesses. Throughout his 46 years in Congress, he led with principle, purpose, and profound love for the people he served—from the streets of Harlem to the halls of Capitol Hill.
Congressman Rangel believed deeply in the promise of economic empowerment as a tool for liberation. His work to advance equitable tax policy, increase access to capital, and invest in urban communities laid the foundation for a stronger, more inclusive economy. The U.S. Black Chambers—and the more than 300,000 Black-owned businesses we represent—stand on the shoulders of his enduring legacy.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Rangel family and to all those whose lives were touched by his leadership. May we honor his life by continuing the work he began—fighting for justice, creating opportunity, and building Black wealth across this nation. |
