A Breathtaking New Chapter for Pinwheel Valley
Emerging indie project Pinwheel Valley has unveiled a haunting new single titled “Can’t Hear A Sound”, released today via Hot Soap Records. The track arrives ahead of their forthcoming EP, Hello From Afar, set to drop on November 28th, 2025.
Already praised by CLASH Magazine, EARMILK, Kaltblut Magazine, and NOTION, the release continues to affirm the band’s growing status as one of the most emotionally resonant acts in the global indie scene.
A Band of Emotion and Ambition
Fronted by Jordanian-Canadian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Qais Khoury, Pinwheel Valley is a project rooted in introspection and cinematic storytelling. Originally performing under the name KAIS, the artist has evolved into a full band experience, featuring Stephanos Marangos (lead/supporting guitar), Max Daniels(bass/Ableton), and either Stephanos Meletiou or Phrangiskos Petrisis on drums.
The group’s sound fuses Indie Soul, mellow Alt-Rock, and Folktronica, drawing influence from Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, James Blake, and Radiohead — creating something both deeply human and sonically ethereal.
With over 2 million streams across platforms and recognition from Billboard Argentina, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Sheffield, RTÉ 2FM, and NPR Music, Pinwheel Valley’s artistry continues to transcend borders. Their single “Your Superman” debuted at No. 13 on the US iTunes Alternative Chart, while award-winning videos for “Willow” and “Abduction” collected top honors at international film festivals, including the New York Film Awards, Vegas Movie Awards, and the Swedish International Film Festival.
About the Single: “Can’t Hear A Sound”
Produced and written by Qais Khoury, “Can’t Hear A Sound” is a stirring sonic journey of monumental proportions. Khoury’s voice — vast, aching, and full of restrained power — hovers above a lush arrangement of strings, guitar, and cinematic percussion.
The track evokes timeless themes of war, belonging, and the silence that follows devastation. Qais describes the single as:
“A song of bloodlines and soil, of war and the restless pull of home… a cry carried on the wind, calling to kin who have wandered astray. It is both invocation and vow — a promise to shield them, body and soul, and to guard the earth that holds their roots.”
It’s an anthem of emotional gravity and quiet resilience — the kind of music that lingers long after the final note fades.
The Story Behind the Sound
From writing songs at thirteen to studying production at Point Blank Music School in London, Qais Khoury’s path has been one of constant evolution. Influenced by his father’s love for Sinatra and Elton John, his upbringing — spanning Amman, London, Vancouver, and now Cyprus — informs the project’s cross-cultural soul.
Through Pinwheel Valley, Qais channels these experiences into music that explores the tension between modern life and timeless human emotion — a sound as introspective as it is boundless.
