Phoenix Soaked: Wettest Day in Years Caps Multi-Day Storm; Deadly Flooding Hits Globe, Miami

Phoenix, AZ — September 28, 2025 (MST) — Metro Phoenix was doused by days of thunderstorms that culminated in one of the city’s wettest single days in years. The same system unleashed catastrophic flooding in Globe and neighboring Miami (Gila County), where officials confirmed multiple deaths and widespread damage.

Phoenix Rain: Biggest One-Day Total Since 2018

  • Phoenix Sky Harbor finished Friday with ~1.64 inches of rain, the most in a single day at the airport since October 13, 2018 (2.19″), according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix. (Facebook)

Globe & Miami: Lives Lost, Hazards Spread
