Los Angeles, July 16, 2025 — With the 2025 Primetime Emmy nominations officially announced, JustWatch—the world’s largest streaming guide—dug into audience engagement data to spotlight the shows that Emmy voters overlooked but fans couldn’t get enough of.
Using data from over 20 million monthly U.S. users, JustWatch analyzed scripted TV series released during the Emmy eligibility window (June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025), focusing on the top-tier categories: Outstanding Drama, Comedy, and Limited or Anthology Series. The report reveals several standout titles that surpassed official nominees in streaming intent, popularity, and user approval—yet were left out of Emmy contention.

- Squid Game, MobLand, and Q led JustWatch’s Drama Series rankings, outpacing many nominees in streaming clicks and sentiment, but were shut out of the category.
- Andor and The Last of Us are the top ranking Emmy-nominated shows in the drama category.
- Murderbot ranked #2 in Comedy Series, behind The Bear, but failed to score a nomination.
- Say Nothing placed #4 in the Limited Series category, topping high-profile entries like Dying for Sec and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Each title was also tagged by genre and U.S. streaming availability.
The scoring model consists of three weighted components, each normalized to a 0–100 scale:
- Audience Rating (45% weight): Calculated from the ratio of likes to dislikes, reflecting direct user sentiment.
- Streaming Score (45% weight): Based on the volume of clickouts to streaming platforms, indicating active viewing intent.
- Popularity Score (10% weight): Derived from page views, trailer views, and watchlist additions—capturing broader discovery and engagement patterns.
