[WASHINGTON, DC ] June 19, 2025 — Today, we pause to honor Juneteenth, a sacred day in American history that marks the official end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation—enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom. This momentous day is a powerful reminder that justice delayed is still justice deserved, and that freedom is only meaningful when paired with access, equity, and opportunity.
Juneteenth is not just a celebration of liberation—it’s a call to action. It’s a moment to reflect on our collective progress and recommit to building a future rooted in economic justice, entrepreneurship, and Black wealth creation. At the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc., we recognize that true freedom includes the power to own, to build, to lead, and to thrive. That’s why our mission remains focused on advancing the Black economic agenda through advocacy, business development, and access to capital.
We encourage you to celebrate Juneteenth not only with joy—but with purpose. Join local demonstrations, peaceful protests, and community events that uplift our culture and our cause. Take a bold step forward—join the ByBlack Platform and get certified for free to increase your business visibility, access new opportunities, and connect with a national network of Black-owned businesses. And most importantly, become a member of the U.S. Black Chambers—because together, we are stronger, louder, and more impactful.
The movement doesn’t end today. We invite you to continue the celebration at the 2025 USBC National Conference, where we’ll gather in Washington, D.C. to strategize, celebrate, and amplify Black business excellence.
Juneteenth is our history. Black business is our future.
In solidarity,
Ron Busby, Sr.
President & CEO, U.S. Black Chambers, Inc.
