Phoenix, AZ – A man was hospitalized following a shooting early this morning at a QuikTrip gas station in East Phoenix, sparking a large police investigation that temporarily shut down the business.
According to initial citizen reports, Phoenix police responded to an unconfirmed incident at 2255 N. 44th Street at approximately 7:58 a.m. MST after a 911 caller reported hearing shots fired.
Minutes later, multiple police units arrived on scene and quickly cordoned off the area as they began investigating the situation. Video captured by a Citizen app user showed a heavy police presence surrounding the gas station, with investigators blocking access to the property.
By 9:30 a.m., authorities confirmed that a man had been shot at the location. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital. His condition has not yet been released and remains unknown at this time.
The QuikTrip location was closed to the public as detectives worked to process the scene and gather evidence.
As of 11:39 a.m. MST, officials indicated that no arrests have been made, and it remains unclear what led to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified.
Phoenix police have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
