Earth’s defenses are useless to stop these creatures,” reads the synopsis for the anime. “However, a mysterious group of people appear and fight off the Neighbors. They create a defense agency called “Border” that protects the citizens from Neighbors still emerging from opening gates. Four years after the original attack on Earth, a humanoid Neighbor named Yuma Kuga arrives in Mikado City. There he meets Osamu Mikumo, a Border Agent.”
