FX has revealed the official trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s supernatural comedy, What We Do in the Shadows. It is scheduled to make its return on July 12 on FX and on Hulu.
The What We Do in the Shadows season four trailer, which you can check out below, features Nandor, Nadja, and Laszlo pursuing different paths in their lives: Nandor is trying to find the perfect wife, Nadja has opened a vampire nightclub, and Laszlo is taking care of Baby Colin.
Based on the 2014 vampire mockumentary film of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows centers around three old school vampires, Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja, who live together at Staten Island. With the help of Nandor’s loyal familiar, Guillermo, they try their best to connect with the modern world and blend in with other humans and supernatural beings.
“In the shocking season three finale, Nandor, Guillermo, and Nadja left Staten Island to go their separate ways while Laszlo stayed home to care for the creature that clawed its way out of the chest cavity of the deceased Colin Robinson — aka Baby Colin,” reads the synopsis. “This season, the vampires return to Staten Island to find their mansion on the verge of total structural collapse — and with no money to repair it. While Nandor’s eternal search for love finally yields results, Nadja finally realizes her dream of opening the hottest vampire nightclub in the Tri-State Area. Laszlo struggles with the question of nature versus nurture as he tries raising Baby Colin to be anything other than an energy vampire. And even Guillermo finds himself on a powerful emotional track that touches on his love for his family, and for others.”
The series is written and executive-produced by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. It stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, and Mark Proksch.
