The Boys Shares Emoji Too Hot for Twitter Ahead of Herogasm Episode

This week’s upcoming episode of Amazon’s The Boys is set to introduce fans of the show to Herogasm, one of the more iconic and memorable storylines from the comic. Ahead of that, however, The Boys ‘ Twitter account shared a photo of an emoji the team was hoping to use.

In a tweet sent out on Sunday, the official Twitter account for The Boys shared an emoji that they say they tried to get Twitter to approve, but could not. The emoji itself is of an eggplant wearing a superhero cape, an obvious reference to the more lewd aspect of the upcoming episode.

For those unaware, the spin-off miniseries Herogasm is a story that sees the Vought superheroes lie to the public about needing to go off into space to fight aliens, when really they just travel to a secret island in order to have a massive orgy. How the series is set to tackle that remains unclear, especially in regards to how most of the heroes in The Boys don’t seem to get along too well.

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics’ boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.
