From all of the players in the league and his teammates in the Golden State Warriors, it will always be Stephen Curry and Draymond Green who’ll be there through rainstorms and sunny days of Klay Thompson.

After the Warriors poured on a 118-103 home show against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday evening, Klay Thompson was captured sitting alone in the bench for a long time — showing frustrations while longing to finally play the game he truly loves after missing back-to-back seasons in 2020 and 2021. Though the remaining bay area fans tried to show their support while cheering his name, the star shooter didn’t hold himself back in expressing his true emotions.

And for a few moments, as reported by Warriors insider Kendra Andrews, Thompson was seen heading to the dugout while being accompanied by his three closest figures in the franchise — Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr

Curry and Green then addressed the media following their 17th win and the said incident. The superstar point guard has nothing but admiration for Thompson’s passion in basketball and delivered his support through thick and thin. On the flipped side, the defensive specialist forward also gave his appreciation on the sidelined marksman’s will to play hoop.

“It shows how much the game matters to him…it’s gonna hit him sometimes, and we gotta be there to support him.”

“It’s very tough, he’s right there, getting toward the end of the road…I don’t know many people that love basketball the way Klay loves basketball…”

Thompson has endured long enough just to see himself riding the bench to support his teammates while sustaining major setbacks. He was first ruled out after an ACL tear during the Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, then followed by a devastating torn Achilles few weeks before the 2020-2021 season.

After a series of rehabilitation and trusting the process of his recovery, the five-time All-star has officially received a green light to participate in full team practices — a major step towards a much-anticipated comeback. As such, Thompson will be a few days away to finally feel the fulfilling moment of the NBA spotlight after more than two years of hiatus.

The fact that he expressed his high hopes on the league-leading Dubs to claim back the Larry O’Brien trophy and what he feels about his current status, Thompson is locked and loaded to finally represent the Golden State uniform and be back for a season of vengeance. Fueled also by the NBA 75th anniversary team snub, he is sure bound for remarkable offensive display amid the tough breaks he had from the past.
