Emmy nominee Emma Corrin (The Crown, Pennyworth, Misbehaviour) is set to star in FX’s upcoming mystery drama limited series Retreat in the lead role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project was picked up to series in August.
Corrin will play Darby Hart, described as “an amateur detective who attempts to solve a murder at a secluded retreat.”
“Retreat follows Darby Hart and 11 other guests who are invited by a reclusive billionaire to take part in a retreat at a dazzling, remote location,” according to the synopsis. “When one of the guests is found dead, Darby must fight to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.”
Netflix’s The OA co-creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij will write and direct the project. Marling will reportedly also play a key on-screen role in the series.
From FX Productions, Marling and Batmanglij will executive produce Retreat along with Andrea Sperling (Transparent).
Corrin’s other upcoming projects include the drama film My Policeman, directed by Michael Grandage and written by Ron Nyswaner, along with Lady Chatterley’s Lover, the drama feature adapted from D.H. Lawrence’s novel.
