The Detroit Pistons are a potential landing spot for Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III.

NBA Insider Mark Stein detailed a report via Substack wherein the Pistons are interested to acquire the former Duke standout.

“While in Detroit, I was advised to put the Pistons down as a team to watch as a trade suitor for the Kings’ disgruntled Marvin Bagley III.

“No trade anywhere is considered likely, sources stressed, until after Dec. 15 arrives and the league’s pool of players eligible to be dealt grows considerably. That’s the date that trade restrictions on numerous players who signed new contracts in free agency in August gets lifted.

“The Pistons, though, have been tracking Bagley since last season, league sources said—long before the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 fell completely out of favor in Sacramento.”

Bagley has been engaged on a drama with the Kings prior to the start of the season. Almost completely out of head coach Luke Walton’s rotational lineup, the big man only logged 10 minutes for donning the Sac-town jersey this season.

On Monday, Bagley refused to enter the 2nd half of Kings’ 109-104 defeat against the Phoenix Suns, further evidence that the two sides are not on good terms.

Bagley was selected by Sacramento for their 2nd overall pick bid in the 2018 NBA Draft. He’s currently averaging 14.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 50 percent shooting in his professional career.
