China has kept silent over growing concern for tennis star Peng Shuai, who has not been heard from since accusing a powerful politician of sexual assault.
Peng alleged that she was coerced into having sex by former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli. The post was quickly scrubbed from the Chinese internet, and Peng has not been seen or heard from since.
WTA chief Steve Simon released a statement on Peng Shuai situation. He also spoke about the tour’s efforts to reach her directly.
