Movie Review: “13 Fanboy” Will help bring back the “Friday The 13th” Franchise

By Brad Fox

The new release “13 Fanboy” is about an obsessed fan stalking his favorite actors from the “Friday the 13th” films and beyond, mirroring his idol Jason Voorhees. Directed by – Sean S. Cunningham and written by Victor Miller and Ron Kurz.

The movie synopsis: This crazy fan whose only mission in life is to kill the cast members of “Friday The 13th”.  As a kid, he was locked in a basement with nothing to do but watch a VHS movie collection of old Friday the 13th and Halloween films. He decides to go after the cast because none of them ever wrote him back when he sent fan mail. Then there was Kelsie Voorhees witnessing the murder of her grandmother Deborah Voorhees, a famous Friday the 13th actress, Kelsie Voorhees is left traumatized as a child. When other Friday the 13th actresses begin to get killed one by one by the crazy stalker fan, an adult Kelsie finds herself as the target of the deranged fan that wants to replicate the horror of the franchise’s death scenes in real life. After risking her life to save her grandmother’s best friend Dee Wallace. She is now the one who must kill the crazy fanboy, it’s up to her and nobody else. Can she, do it? Find out by seeing the “13 Fanboy” yourself. This film was made by Deborah Voorhees:  They still don’t own the rights to make new films yet. So, this is a fan film to hold them over until a new “Friday the 13th” film can be released.  My thoughts, based on this film they should let them release more films pronto.

  The Cast Includes

• Dee Wallace as Herself

• Hayley Greenbauer as Kelsie Voorhees

• Poppy Gillett as the young Kelsie Voorhees

• Deborah Voorhees as Herself: Deborah had a supporting role in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985).

This film really brought u back to campy horror films. It was beautiful seeing all these Friday the 13th and cinema movie icons unite. I’m not giving away the end so go check it out, it’s in limited movie theaters now. Maybe if more fans support this film, we get true Jason movies again. Until then all these fan-made films will have to do.
