Obi-Wan Kenobi star Hayden Christensen has opened up about his long-awaited return to the Star Wars universe, revealing how he’s been having a fun time exploring “the mindset and emotional state” of a complex character such as Darth Vader.
“He gets knighted as Darth Vader towards the end, and for a couple of scenes, I get to put the suit on. But my journey with the character was with Anakin Skywalker,” Christensen told Total Film. “But the character? He’s such a complex character. And now, getting to explore the mindset and the emotional state of Darth Vader, has been a lot of fun.”
The actor also teased that we could be seeing more of him as Darth Vader in the future.
“The extent of this journey, I think, remains to be seen,” Christensen teased. “But what a privilege to get to come back and do this, and to be a part of this project.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi sees the return of Ewan McGregor to the Star Wars universe as he reprises his iconic role as the titular Jedi master, whom he famously portrayed in George Lucas’ prequel trilogy.
