Giants-Dodgers parking prices ahead of Game 5 are worse than whatever you're guessing – SF Gate

Game 5 of the National League Division Series between the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers is very close to a sell-out on the Giants’ website, and predictably, parking near Oracle Park does not look fun for those who chose to drive.

One image posted to social media shows that parking in one SoMa lot costs $100, and fans will have to hustle back as that garage will close an hour after the game ends.

A tour through SoMa by SFGATE photo editor Douglas Zimmerman revealed parking prices as high as $140 per car two hours before the first pitch, and fans will have to hustle back as that garage will close an hour after the game ends. Another for $110 directly was spotted across from the ballpark about three hours before gametime. At the Beacon on Townsend between 3rd and 4th, attendants turned their $100 sign around because they were full.

One attendant said he expected prices to keep going up ahead of the start of the game.

KRON4’s Kylen Mills spotted a lot charging $120 a few blocks from the ballpark. An unverified Reddit post from Saturday’s Game 2 at Oracle Park showed $120 parking spots two blocks from the stadium.

BART took advantage of the recently popularized red flag meme, writing on Twitter, “‘I was planning on driving to the game tonight and parking near the ballpark’ (23 red flag emojis).”

“Beat traffic. Beat the parking. BEAT LA! Along with @Caltrain, @sfmta_muni and @SFBayFerry, BART can help you get to the Giants-Dodgers game tonight,” the agency continued. “BART is running until midnight tonight. Load up your Clipper card in advance, and plan your transit trip ahead!”

The Embarcadero BART station is around a 20-minute walk from Oracle Park.

First pitch for Game 5 of the NLDS is scheduled for 6:07 p.m.
