ComingSoon is debuting the exclusive trailer for the coming-of-age adventure drama The Falconer, written and directed by Seanne Winslow (The Lego Movie) and Adam Sjöberg (Shake the Dust). The project is apparently the first feature to ever be shot entirely in Oman.
“Inspired by true events, two best friends, Tariq (Rami Zahar), an Omani teenager, and Cai (Rupert Fennessy), a privileged Westerner, conspire to steal animals from the zoo and sell them on the black market to raise money for Tariq’s sister’s divorce from an abusive marriage,” reads the official synopsis. “They are forced to wrestle with morally complex choices that reveal the vast distance between their worlds.”
