Longtime Chicago Bulls writer KC Johnson is worried about Lonzo Ball’s health going forward.
(Via NBC Sports Chicago):
“We heard in January that this was going to be a relatively minor procedure, 6-8 weeks he’d be back. Obviously, he never played again. And look, man, this is just a procedure and then re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks. That’s not return to play in 4-6 weeks. And look, man, his injury history is his injury history. I hate to be saying these things. I love watching Lonzo Ball play basketball. As a basketball fan, he is a joyful player to watch.
“But, the evidence is the evidence. This is his third procedure on that left knee. He’s torn that meniscus twice, and they just can’t get to the bottom of what’s causing the discomfort. I guess if you want to go glass half full, his debridement finally gets to the loose pieces of cartilage or whatever’s causing the discomfort and he returns with a full belt of health and plays the rest of the season. That’s best case scenario, but at this point, not a lot has gone right for him since January. So that’s why I’m kinda glass half empty right now.”
